I would love to help out your small business with custom design work. I worked as a graphic designer at my local fabric shop, and I've also helped out some small local biz owners with branding and file setups. Finding a designer can feel like taking a big risk, but I will hold your (virtual) hand as we figure out the best way to showcase your brand together with a logo, colour palette, and even a custom pattern to elevate your brand. I'll make sure you get the file sizes and types you require for your website, social media, and marketing needs.

Mad About Patchwork

I was the graphic designer at my local quilt shop, Mad About Patchwork. When the current owner, Alison Harle, took over the shop in 2019, she hired me to help with rebranding. For two years, I designed the shop’s marketing and promotional material, branding stickers, fun stickers for giveaways, collectible postcards and business cards to be sent with every package, shop signs, and website branding. I also helped out with quilt mockups and some behind-the-scenes work for the shop’s backend. It was such a fun job and I love the brand colours that we picked out together. It helps make all of the marketing and promo material super bright and vibrant .

Samovar Queen

Zarina Laalo reached out to me for her new business, a Russian tea and treats company called Samovar Queen. Zarina gave me a mood board to work from, and the theme was: modern interpretation of traditional Russian folk art. I learned about several different styles of Russian folk art. Falling down that rabbit hole was pretty enjoyable! We landed on this Russian queen, surrounded by the florals and fruits that Zarina will highlight in her teas. I created a repeat pattern using the same motif, and laid everything out for her jam jar labels using different colour palettes for the various flavours.

Trailhead Yarns

Samantha of Trailhead Yarns reached out to me for help designing some stickers, packaging, and embroidery patterns. Samantha already had a brand identity, so I worked within her parameters to design a box for her annual “Naughty or Nice” yarn/thread advent calendars.

Samantha has also branched out to selling premium hand-dyed threads and embroidery “un-kits.” She gave me ideas for embroidery patterns and I drew and set up the files to bring her ideas from sketch to fabric.

More Than A Monolith

CAAPLE (California Association of Asian & Pacific Leaders in Education) reached out to me and asked me to design a cover for their new podcast, More Than A Monolith.

I designed a background that they could use on their social media in three colours. I also put together a few colour combinations for speaker feature posts on social media, and made them into a Canva template that they could adjust themselves for each new speaker.

Cotton Stitch

Priscilla, the one-woman force behind the handmade biz Cotton Stitch, asked me to help her rebrand her business. We came up with a completely new logo concept and I made up a matching pattern for her packaging. I designed gift cards, thank you cards, business cards, and a bunch of adorable stickers to brand her mailers.

Wild Birds Unlimited Kanata

Kindell and Joshua Tolmie, owners of Wild Birds Unlimited Kanata, reached out to me for help in designing promo material for their shop. They had some ideas for stickers that they wanted me to design and I helped bring them to life.

Couturious & Sewing at School

Samantha Schmidt is a local blogger, hobby garment maker, and teacher here in Ottawa with an active social media presence. She runs an amazing garment sewing blog called Couturious. She needed a logo and favicon for her web presence so I helped design this floral sewing machine logo for her.

She also runs a sewing club at her school to teach kids this important craft. She tasked me with creating a kid-friendly version of her logo, with an animated version that serves as a cover for her YouTube videos.

I have worked with many brands in the past to put together a simple logo. If you need to work within a budget, I can help!
